Catherine has a dual degree in Sculpture and Art & Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. During her time in Chicago she founded an artist collective known as Hotel Kafka which provided a venue for underground music, visual art, film, and theater that ran for a decade starting in the mid nineties.
After moving to New York City, Catherine became heavily involved in sculpture, working a day job as a fine art fabricator for a studio that built exclusively for blue chip artists and specializing in large works destined for museums and collectors.
After the birth of her daughter, Arcadia, Catherine opened a small studio in Greenpoint Brooklyn and began to focus on small wearable metalworks that could be created in a tiny garage space.
Currently, Catherine is working on curating and organizing for a couple of upcoming artist collectives and galleries based in NYC and Miami. Her goal is to help create physical and virtual spaces that intersect the worlds of fine art, fashion, music, and technology.
“Doro captures the art of life.”
Catherine works on consulting projects, and is also available for commission work as well as model making.
